First, the apology. I’m well aware that I promised you Austria outfit posts before the week was out… and it’s now been over two weeks. I’m sorry, I’m a bad person ๐Ÿ˜ฆ I have however FINALLY gotten my act together and found a few pictures for you!

And now for something completely different:

Oh yes. Them’re udders, baby. On a menu.

Now to… my GCSE results!! In total I got five As, four Bs, and two Cs. I can’t really be bothered going into detail right now, but I got at least all the grades I wanted or more ๐Ÿ™‚

Plus a photo of me was in the Blackpool Gazette! I wasn’t mentioned, like, but hey ๐Ÿ™‚ I’m on the left, with C.P. in the middle and C.H. on the right hand side.

I’m off to sixth form college on Friday to take English Literature, Classical Civilisation, Textiles and R.E.P. (R.E.P. stand for Religion, Ethics and Philosophy. And I’m a dynamite arguer.)

Now for college, I’ve bought myself a few new things. A hefty amount of new things if I’m honest. These are just a few of the pretty things in question:

But I mean, they’re all an investment. Everybody needs a coat, and I didn’t have one, so that’s money well spent. Plus I didn’t have a pair of jeans that fit me properly and they were only a tenner.

๐Ÿ˜‰

I’ve also given thought to my hair for college and I really think that sponge rollers are the way to go. Mainly because they’re easy and I’m lazy. This video by Lisa Freemont Street was a great help:

And Classic Retro Glamour’s Diana Dors tutorial provided a setting pattern for me. The only difference is that I’m still not too good with pincurls so I use small sponge rollers all over, set in the same pattern as the pincurls.

Here’s a couple of pictures of the rollers in my hair:

I used 28 small sponge rollers in this photograph but I think you may be better off using larger rollers for the three front bits. I don’t actually have any large sponge rollers though, so right now I’m making do with small ones. Obviously in the above video standup pincurls are used too, so that’s probably the best way to do it… I’m just not very good at those ๐Ÿ™‚

The little pieces of tissue you might be able to see in the photographs are endpapers; I just cut a normal 4-ply tissue into four pieces and then separate the remaining squares into two 2-ply sheets each (so I end up with eight endpapers from the tissue). Just before I roll the section of hair onto the roller I spray it with water or put a little pomade on the tips of the hair and wrap the endpaper around it. It just helps me to have a lot less frizz to deal with in the morning, and I don’t get those nasty fish-hook ends either.

Then you wrap a headscarf around your head, pin it to keep it in place, and go to bed… done until the morning!

I’ve actually learned to brush it out properly!! Before I used to panic, brush my hair all over the place and then resort to pinning it up, but I’ve learned how to brush it into the real curls and get rid of the frizz, so good times!! You can leave it as it is, pin the curls up somehow, tie a rosie on, maybe make yourself a faux bang, all sorts of things. You really need curls for any of the styles I like, and my poker straight hair definitely isn’t good for that. I know, it didn’t quite turn out like Diana Dors, but I’m working on it ๐Ÿ˜‰

I must admit that I’m currently wondering whether red lipstick is too much for college. Any suggestions?

If anybody actually reads this thing regularly then they may have noticed my recent long absence. The reason for this is my long-anticipated, exercise-saturated holiday to Austria!!

Have no fear, I didn’t forget the blog while I was away. I carried on doing my hair as usual and have amassed a huge collection of hair photographs to post here ๐Ÿ™‚

Braided Updo

Side Faux Bang

Kiss Curl

Pincurls

Victory Rolls with ponytail

So you see, I didn’t forget to keep you guysers updated!!

I’m sorry about the lack of outfit photographs in this post, but all of the outfit photos are on the camera whereas I took the hair photographs on my phone… and I’m too lazy to go and get the camera at the moment ๐Ÿ˜› I promise there’ll be outfits on the blog before the week is out.

Just a quick mention of Lisa Freemont Street… her video for holiday packing was so useful. Sadly I don’t have any Hot Sticks, but I made do with the pincurl clips and my hair flowers didn’t get crushed ๐Ÿ™‚ GOOD TIMES!!

Well, C told me about this competition that Specsavers are running to find people who “look great in glasses”. Cue me!! Haha, maybe not “great”, but if it was a quest to find people who look “pretty damn good” in glasses, I’d win, no doubt about it ;D

Both C and I are going to go for it, and mere moments ago I sent in my application…

In the above, I’ve done my hair with my hot rollers and a lot of the make up is my new Benefit from London.

Quick post, I know, but I’m conscious that I haven’t really blogged in a while ๐Ÿ™‚

I have reached the day when I have too much crap to fit in both the drawer of my dressing table AND in my Marilyn Monroe vanity case. The above is just a selection of all the hair and beauty related wonders that I own.

So when I was shopping in Blackpool with C, I saw these three lovely boxes on sale at WHSmith… and them being pretty AND discounted, AND me being in dire need of storage, I had to get them ๐Ÿ™‚

As I’m sure you can imagine, maneuvering The Boxes through the town centre, onto the bus, along the bus and off the bus was quite a sight to behold ๐Ÿ™‚

So now I use the largest box for skincare, the medium sized box for hair products and the smallest box for rollers. I’m pretty certain that hairbrushes and the like will still be able to fit in the dresser drawer…

Skincare

Hair Products

Rollers

I also came up with an ingenious little solution for bobby pins and loose hot roller pins… you know how they always get lost or just hide somewhere? Well no more, I say!!

Sure, they’re in a maxipad tin and a tampon tin, but who really cares? ๐Ÿ™‚

I recently spent a long weekend in London with my parents, sort of as a late birthday present!! We stayed in the K+K Hotel George:

… and on our first night in London we went to the Ivy ๐Ÿ™‚

…and then went down by the Thames, where we met these odd individuals.

If anybody’s wondering, yes that is my prom dress and shoes. However I didn’t use the underskirt and I put the little white cardigan over the top in case I got cold. Alas, I left the cardigan somewhere on the Friday and it’s surely gone forever now ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

Also on the Friday, I went to the Benefit Boutique in Covent Garden!! All the ladies there were lovely… good times ๐Ÿ™‚

I had my eyebrows waxed, plucked and generally beaten into shape, and a makeover.

Tah-DAH!!

I ended up buying all of these products:

Big Beautiful Eyes Palette

BADgal plum mascara

High Beam

And now I know how exactly to use all of these things… which is, you know, a good thing. If it was left up to me I’m sure I’d be terrible at it, hahah ๐Ÿ˜›

I received a little gift bag too, which included these goodies:

Creaseless Cream Shadow/ Liner in Flying Down To

That Gal primer - I got a little tester size of this ๐Ÿ™‚

FRIDGE MAGNETS ๐Ÿ˜€

Of course, I had to partake in some vintage shopping ๐Ÿ˜‰ I went to Rokit in Covent Garden and picked up a silk scarf and a cute keyring/ measuring tape.

And to round it all off, I have some pictures of a faux bang style with pigtails for you all ๐Ÿ™‚

The pomade I use is Black and White Genuine Pluko.

So last night was the last time I may see quite a lot of the people I’ve spent five years with. It was a good night ๐Ÿ™‚

After much deliberation, I went for all-round 1950s.

You see my wonderful new Photoshop skills? ๐Ÿ˜›

And here’s just a few photos of my friends, because I must say they all looked very splendid.

L-R: S, B, and me

L-R: M and me

L-R: Me and C

L-R: S, C and M

L-R: C and R

L-R: Me, C, B and N

I think you’ll agree that everybody looked splendid… and I shall just give a mention to S and his emergency suit! The suit that was only a very tiny bit shiny!

After an almost fortnight-long absence, I’m back with a lot of lovely pictures for you all ๐Ÿ™‚

Last weekend I had a birthday tea party with most of my family… and a surprise birthday cake.

It looks just like me.

I also have some new presents from various people;

Flower hairbands and a pink bag from Uncle A, L, D, T, J, and another D;

I like the bag because all of my crap fits in it. With room to spare!!

I also received a necklace from J;

PLUS a half day modeling photoshoot, also from J! How exciting ๐Ÿ™‚

With my birthday money I decided to treat myself to something I’ve had my eye on for a long time… a set of hot rollers. I wasn’t quite sure which the best set was, so I went for the fairly safe option of Babyliss.

There are twenty rollers in the pack; eight large, six medium and six small. There are also twenty metal pins in corresponding sizes and ten plastic clips.

My first set is as follows. Don’t I look attractive? ๐Ÿ˜‰

I’m not such an expert at setting them yet, but the curls seem to be turning out just fine in the end.

It's actually really difficult to take photographs of the back of your own head.

I then realised that actually, I may well have been trying to wrap too much hair around each roller. So I tried more rollers and less hair in each segment…

You see? I’m gradually improving.

The above photos feature some of my new makeup.

Revlon ColourBurst lipstick in Crimson;

Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse in Ivory (this colour goes so perfectly with my skin tone, it honestly does. You can’t even tell it’s there. I love it.)

And L’Oreal Paris Studio Secrets Anti-Shine Mattifying Primer.

Now I’m afraid I might not have time to post again for a while. My last exam is tomorrow, but my prom is on Friday and I still have things to sort out for that. Plus a much-loved member of staff at my school passed away very suddenly last week, which was a big shock to everybody… In short, I’m really busy at the moment.

I shall post the outfit that was due yesterday. I just didn’t get around to it… but to make up for posting late, I also have a picture of today’s hair to show you.

Apologies for the mirror photograph. As I’m sure you know I can’t bear taking photographs in this pose, but sometimes it’s necessary.

Blouse and cardigan – Matalan

Jeans – Next

There were also a pair of red peeptoe wedges from Tesco ๐Ÿ™‚

I just had my hair in a pomp & ponytail, felt to lazy yesterday to do anything more advanced…

However, today I felt much more in the mood for something complicated. So I had a look at the gorgeous ClassicRetroGlamour’s video…

and had a go myself ๐Ÿ™‚ I changed some of the things in it, for example doing three main pincurls instead of four, and I curled my hair with straightening irons instead of sponge rollers, but the basic form is the same.

My new hair bow!! โค

And yes, before you ask, I shall be going to school with my hair set like this. Even if it is only for a geography exam ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

So today was my birthday ๐Ÿ™‚ I’m now sixteen. I got a set of Body Shop bath products from my parents;

Olive shampoo and conditioner, lemon shower gel and coconut shower gel, mineral deodorant, nail buffer, detangling comb and some scrubber type thing which I’m vaguely afraid of using.

And from my friend C, two sets of hair bows;

And a pair of skull earrings which I love so much… they’re so psychobilly ๐Ÿ™‚

C also gave me two hilarious little books of rude things, which I shall not dwell on because when I’m blogging, I’m a sweet, demure girl, who never puts a foot wrong ๐Ÿ˜‰

Plus today I managed to do the best victory rolls I’ve ever done. However, after a day at school they were somewhat the worse for wear, and so I shall not be posting a picture today.

And my prom dress arrived! If you cast your eyes back to my post a few months ago about my ideal prom dress… I’ve got the exact one ๐Ÿ™‚

Tomorrow I promise you an outfit post of my new clothes my mum bought me.

Bye bye,

After seeing this beautiful picture ofย Casey

… I developed the most intense case of sunglasses envy I have ever experienced. I just had to make it my mission to find a pair of lovely sunglasses, a task which I accomplished when I went to Stratford! There’s the most gorgeous shop there called Aspire which sells all sorts of adorable clothes and accessories and amongst all the treasures I found these…

The glasses themselves were ยฃ9.95 and the case was about ยฃ8 I think. And in my own little tribute to Casey, here is my picture…

And here’s a photograph of my hair in more detail. It’s just a pompadour with a high ponytail, and if I could have been bothered my rosie scarf would have looked nice tied around the ponytail. It’s a little blurry though I’m sorry.

In other news; Mr. B the Gentleman Rhymer.

Never have I seen a moustache of such splendour. And his banjolele is something else altogether.

He sounds sort of like a mixture between Eric Birling out of An Inspector Calls and Stewie Griffin… in a good way. A great way ๐Ÿ˜€

I rather recommend Hail the Chap and Chap-Hop History, but really Mr. B is great in all of his songs. If a bit of a bally nincompoop at times ๐Ÿ™‚
